We're back by popular demand. Okay, maybe not popular. Not really by demand either. We have just had so many adventures and fun this spring break, I wanted to write about it.
We started off by going camping at Oak Creek Canyon. It is a gorgeous canyon between Sedona and Flagstaff. This is the second time we've camped at Manzanita Campgrond. It is absolutely beautiful there not to mention only two hours from our house in Mesa.
We were aware there was a chance of rain and or snow when we left, but we thought we'd take those chances. On Sunday, the second day there, it started to snow. It didn't stop until it was about four to five inches! It was so much snow, the kids made snowman and had snowman fight.
The hardest thing about camping in the snow is staying dry and warm. because when the snow melts on your clothes, in your tent, it leaves freezing cold water. That is miserable. But we managed and we actually had fun. We learned a lot this trip. And we're looking forward to doing it abgain.
The next thing that happened is Jim and Ty bought Madden 08 for the Wii. Ty had been wanting it for awhile. So far they both love it. They've been getting some quality father and son time in playing virtual football.
On Friday we took the kids to the Mesa Youth Museum. We were not impressed. Infact we regretted spending the money on it all. Jim took most of the week to be with us, and i couldn't help but think that was a waste of our precious family time. There were only two exhibits and they are both aimed for four year olds.
Today was Easter. It was really special. The dya was filled with all things a holiday should be. Food, family and fun. I feel so grateful to be blessed with such a wonderful family. This year we took our egg hunt to the retention basin near by. That was fun to watch the kids run around searching for their eggs. Then we tore in to Aunt Amber's confetti eggs. This family tradition are eggs filled with cnfetti and we run around throwing them at eachother. This is tons of fun for the adults too.
